The best performance ever by a Truronian at a Masters event was delivered last weekend in the 070 category by Dave Matthew as he literally carved his way through the draw to make the grand final itself. On his path of devastation, Dave took out Welsh and England internationals alike to claim his place in the prestigious final where he faced British champion Stuart Hardy and just got edged out in a fine match.
In two other age groups, Truro also produced some credible results with both Mark Campen-Howarth (040) and Tim Smith (055) making the quarter-finals in their divisions but the real honor goes to the outstanding Dave Matthew as he becomes a New England no3 and is in a superposition to qualify for his first cap in the spring for his country.
