The penultimate event of the Masters National Circuit took place in Wolverhampton from January 9-11, with three Truro players competing for England rankings and team qualification points.

The standout performance of the weekend came from Mark Campen-Howarth, who reached the quarter-finals in the O40s category. Mark delivered an exceptional 3/2 victory in the round of 16, defeating current England No. 4 and England captain Tony Webb. The match featured hard-hitting rallies, dynamic movement, and superb racket skills, earning Mark a well-deserved win.

In the O70s, Dave Matthew, despite carrying an injury, secured another semi-final appearance, further solidifying his position for National team qualification in the spring.

Tim Smith also had a strong showing, progressing to the quarter-finals in the O55s category.

Current National Rankings:

  • Mark Campen-Howarth: O40s No. 10
  • Tim Smith: O55s No. 7
  • Dave Matthew: O70s No. 3

The final event of the season, the Masters National Championships, takes place next month in London. With double points on offer, it promises to be an exciting conclusion to the circuit!

Congratulations to our Truro players for their incredible performances and best of luck in the final event!
