A wonderful two days of world-class amateur and professional squash at Truro saw the England Masters Over 50s team take on the strongest possible Cornwall team over 11 matches, followed by a fantastic exhibition match between Joel Makin (WR5) and Jonah Bryant (WR16).

The Cornwall boys played out of their skin to shade their fixture 6 matches to 5, with everything going down to the wire at No. 1 string between Lewis Vinten (17) and Gavin Roger-Lund (57) in the title-deciding match.

The Pro event saw Jonah play Over 70 England player Dave Matthew (single game) and Joel take on Over 65 England player Gordon Benbow (single game).

They then produced a 70-minute thriller of breathless intensity, athleticism, and skill, which spellbound the sell-out crowd. Joel won 3/1, but as the saying goes… the real winners were those in attendance who witnessed the incredible event.

15 events delivered – who will be playing next?
The story will continue at “Probably the best squash club in the world!”
